An aromatic Greek liqueur from Patras

Tribute to Tendura on the Dutch griekenland.net

Tentura, also called Tentoura, is a traditional liqueur from the city of Patras in the Achaia region in the northwest of the Peloponnese . The drink dates back to the 15th century, when the Venetians still ruled here. The name Tentura is derived from the Latin word 'tinctura' which means tincture. And therefore an alcoholic drink made from one or more herbs. Tentura is dark in color with mainly cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves as ingredients. Delicious with coffee, for example, or as a digestif to end your meal. We spoke to Georgios Tzoudas from the Vantana distillery in Patras about this ancient liqueur from Greece.
