Panagiotis Vantanas was a man of restless spirit and unique aesthetics. He strived to discover raw materials, tasting drinks and wines from all over the world and coming up with new ideas.

The port of Patras was then a transportation hub for raw materials from the east to Europe and vice versa, carried by the booming raisin trade, which gave Panagiotis Vantanas the opportunity to encounter many raw materials and products.

So, when he founded his distillery in 1904, he began to store in oak barrels, which he kept in dry cellars with mild temperature, the best wine spirits from Greek grape varieties, as well as Muscat of Patras, a wine with intense aromatic concentration.

The spirits matured for a long time and developed an intense aroma, full of flavour and vivid, amber colour.

He wanted to use them to create a drink with a Greek character to elicit intense emotions.

He composed it with a harmonic blend of brandy - distilled wine from Greek grape varieties aged in oak barrels, Corinth raisin distillate, Muscat of Patras, a sweet white wine of protected designation of origin, honey from mountain herbs from Helmos and Erymanthos and crystal-clear water from their springs.

Some people called this unique Greek drink brandy and others called it cognac, but its real name was Authentic Vantana.

This drink, produced to date by the third generation of the family distillery, with the same recipe by Panagiotis Vantanas, represents the authenticity of Greek raw materials, their strength, their uniqueness, their wonderful taste and aroma.

It is bright, amber and lively.
It feels fruity and floral.

Its flavour is full and round, with an essence of caramel and a touch of raisin.
Its balanced aftertaste has a soft finish.

It is versatile and generous with a strong character, which always comes up, whether it is served neat, on the rocks or in cocktails.
It affords complex and creative uses in gastronomy and pastry.

It has received the following awards:
